☆sweet, sweet home☆

Good 'ol California coast, it's been really lovely as of late. I had to go to La Jolla's Birch Aquarium for a school field trip and I just had to take this foto.

lips; viva la glam nude color, eyeliner; dollywink, eyeshadow; covergirl

My look for Thanksgiving dinner on Sunday (two in one week! I'm sooo full!), something simple for a nice dinner with my close loved ones. I'm so happy that I ordered this animal print hat from F21, it feels so comfy and my head feels a lot warmer.

YES ANOTHER WISHLIST!This one is my more "serious-more-likely-t0-get-wishlist", things that I really, really, really, really want. I've opted for black suede litas instead of the regular black (not pictured).

I was able to participate in Black Friday and help boost the failing American economy by buying a lot of good quality clothing items, so I feel alright with the selection I have now; I want to now focus on key pieces that I can be flexible with. I'll be making a separate post about my Black Friday gets and am in the works of doing my gyaru makeup tutorial (one of the things on my list!), so yay

My shipment of EMODA's mook and Happie Nuts JAN 2012 cover is on the way! I'm really so excited for the EMODA mook, I have been drooling over every entry Ena makes about it! I'm also excited to get the EMODA tote I'm also looking forward to the EMODA freebie in the Happie Nuts issue! EMODA everywhere, I love it!

I just figured out how to use the timer on my iphone so I'm hoping to do "real" coordinate pictures for you all instead of having crap mirror photos, thanks for always being so lovely to me even though my fotos don't turn up very well!

It's officially Christmas season and I've been waiting all year. I'll be honest and say I've been pretty down for the past few weeks or so, I haven't been at my best and just have not been motivated at all. I'm hoping to be more motivated and be inspired by my favorite time of the year, it being the only time where I really feel so happy everyday.

Being happy is really the key to everything, and among the many things I'm juggling right now I really want to make that a priority.

And I know it's waaay too early to think about Spring, but it is smart to follow on the "pre" looks for this upcoming Spring, and a lot of fashion brands are now exposing their picks. Here is what I've come up with for my first "pre" Spring look(s). There is more to be for Spring season, but I'm loving what I've been seeing by my favorite designers so far.

Also wish me luck! Tomorrow I start my annual Japanese-English translating gig, I totally have forgotten so much keigo so I'm brushing up on it tonight. It's something I do twice a year (during summer and winter) for delegates that come over from Japan to my city. So happy I just bought some really nice things to wear from Black Friday

☆je vous remercie☆

Hello lovelies, hope your week has been going well. As for me, I've had some great news this week but was overcrowded by not so great news that I got today I'm hoping for my week to pick up! For us Americans it is Thanksgiving week: one of the weeks in the year that I dread since I'm sooo tempted to eat sooooo badly, especially since my mother is such a great cook!

Regardless, I hope your Thanksgiving is a lovely one! I'm very excited to see Arthur Christmas in US theaters, considering it is an English production! I'm so excited that one of my favorite Scottish actors,James McAvoy, voices the lead character! I hope you will all see it if you have the time to

It seems so odd to think that Christmas season is only a few days away, I feel like I've been waiting for ages for it to come! While thinking about it, I keep getting excited about seeing all the beautiful lights, enjoying close loved one's company, and cooking delicious food. My family has a tradition every year that we bake before going out around the town looking at the Christmas lights on the houses (and sometimes they have tours INSIDE of houses!). Do you have a family Christmas tradition? It is my favorite time of the whole year

There is also something on everybody's minds... what is my Christmas wish-list this year!? You know you've thought about it, you can't fool me! And I definitely don't blame you, I've been trying to keep my list below a certain money and quantity range, but I seem to be having a problem doing that. I know I probably won't get any of these things (unless I buy them for myself), but it's still nice to look forward and work towards something you want, right?

I'm more of a gift giver than receiver, I just find giving gifts to be a lot more fun!!

So, here is my wish-list for this year!

Zara's Plaited Shopper and Crossover Coat--

EMODA top and Topshop dress (since I'm 173cm, it will be a top on me!笑;;)---

UO's Deena & Ozzy studded bag and EMODA ruffle top---

Both from EMODA--dressy top and abstract top--and dazzlin tiger pullover

OKAY ENOUGH BLACK, can you tell it's my favorite color now? Honestly my favorite colors are black, red, purple, and gold---!! I was noticing that I kept picking EMODA items, so I'll just stop right here

I'm really sorry for the lack of coords and REAL quality coords, I mean. I'm ordering my second set of lenses and shall be back on the circle lens train once they arrive. I really miss wearing circle lenses, I can't wait to stock up again. You can also blame me working and going to school all the time for me not really dressing like how I usually do--I'm always so tired after both and end up just on tumblr, reading jscans online, and/or twittering with my other lovely bloggers (been cutting myself off from online shopping, my wallet is happy so far but I'm not!).

In the mean time, I've taken this meme from the lovely Sara Mari , she inspired me to do this! It is "twelve things that you want to get done by December 31st", a breakdown list is just exactly what I need to stay focused and on track, and I thought I'd share it with you all. You bold what you have finished so far! I'll also include this on my sidebar.

1. Finish up this last semester with "decent" grades
2. Get 1/2 way to my goal weight
3. SAVE MONEY MONEY MONEY
4. Organize my room--things I need, don't need, etc
5. Be more creative with makeup and coordinates
6. FINALLY do a makeup tutorial
7. Finalize Major + Minor studies (currently International Bus. w/European Studies) w/Uni
8. Wake up earlier AND happier
9. Decide who I want in my life, and who I don't
10. Read all the books that have been sitting on my desk all semester (bought them, never got around to reading them!)
11. GET BETTER AT GERMAN /fail
12. Love myself a little bit more

I hope you all can set goals for yourself and challenge yourself! I think what really makes us grow is how much we are able to challenge ourselves to better ourselves, even if it's little things at a time.

I'm so excited for the EMODA mook that is coming out so so so soon

☆私服+my closet☆

I feel a lot more confident with my closet, I like having a range of colors along with my traditional burgundy and black. I think any girl will feel happy with looking at her closet and seeing it full of clothes. My closet hasn't been this full in ages! I got rid of a lot of clothes that I felt no longer fit my style, and have instead opted for pieces that you wouldn't find anybody in my neighborhood wearing.

I think that's why I loved Nagoya (or cities in Japan in general), I felt a lot more free with my fashion style, while here in socal, you'll only find freedom of fashion in LA because nobody cares what you wear; everybody is kind of odd there anyway, so you won't stand out. My neighborhood in Japan was very conservative, so even there I felt restricted. It was only in the big cities that I felt air to breathe and just dress like how I wanted to.

Southern California weather is somewhat bi-polar, it can never decide what season it is and/or whether to keep to pattern; any socal resident can agree with me on this! I'll wake up with it raining and it will end up being warm and sunny the rest of the day, so I've been confused on what to wear. I've opted for long sleeves and breezy skirts, as a way to get both if it stays cold and/or gets warm unexpectedly

I like the tucked-in look, and if you pair your bottoms right it can even make you look slimmer. I like the trend, but I don't think it's for me; I'm happily okay admiring it from afar, but I wanted to give it 'another go' with this coord.

top; italy, bottom; f21, bag; h&m, earrings; icing

I've been kind of confused of how to style my hair as of late, so I've been putting it in messy buns for the past week; I desperately need to dye it as well

Been making the most of not having to wear a coat 24/7 since it seems cold weather won't be coming to SoCal for a while, wore this out shopping the other day. I love pairing neutrals with opposite colors; sometimes it works out, sometimes it doesn't, but it's fun to experiment!

When I was at H&M the other day, I fell in love with this EMODA-esque dress. It literally was screaming my name from across the room, I've never felt this strong for any clothing item; it's always purses for me! Although I'm quite far from even wearing this kind of dress, I feel like this would be my 'final transformation' kind of dress once I'm at my goal weight. I might just go back and buy it so it can even further motivate me, I am just so in-love with it---with my nude pumps, damir ebene LV, shades, and burgundy lipstick, it'd be a perfect outfit.

The left top is from F21 (like the only top I am liking in their store right now, not really into F21 anymore to be honest), and I like it not only because of the pearls and cuffs, but I love the color and although it's a dress-top, I think with some skinnys and black pumps it can be a great outfit. I might just go back and buy it for future spring coords.

I'm not the kind of girl who likes window shopping---I absolutely HATE it--but I like going into stores and picturing how I'd coordinate an item..

This year is almost over and I only have three more weeks of uni and then I'm done, then the next task is moving up to SF. Everything is just coming SOOOO quickly! Do you feel that way as well? I feel like I don't have enough time to do the things that I need to do... although I am excited for Christmas season (yay!). I'm also bringing back 'hit or miss!' series starting this Friday, sorry for totally abandoning it!

Thanks so much for your input on my last post, I'm excited to share my fashion journey with you all

☆STRIPES & INSPO☆

Hello m'loves! My computer was out of service for almost a week due to Safari crashing on me AGAIN, so I took it to Apple and it shouldn't happen again but we'll see---!;;;;

I never used to be a fan of stripes, I always thought they made me look bigger than I already am and that they only compliment stick-thin girls. I decided to take a chance and try my luck with stripes again, seeing as I only have three striped tops (two I most recently got handed down to me, yay free clothes!).

No lashes, no circle lenses--just me, my Covergirl coral lipstick, Maybelline mascara, and Dolly Wink liquid eyeliner. Really been inspired to rock a big, thick braid, I think it's a nice touch (also because I'm lazy). I chose a gold cut-short turtleneck to add some more color into an otherwise somber brugundy, white, and black coordinate--it sparkles too!

I liked the idea of tucking in the loose striped top, I think it adds a twist to the outfit. I like that there is not "too much" going on, that's why I did not opt for chunky jewelry (necklaces, rings, etc)---I like the simplicity, it's something that I am slowly getting into (and loving). I think the more weight I lose, the more comfortable I will be when I wear things like this out of the house.

My ultimate current obsession? CUFFS. I love them, I'm currently on a hunt to find more long-sleeved tops with cuffs. I'm a fan of the whole pear/studded/etc collars (thank you Murua!), but I'm really in love with cuffs. I recently picked up a satin deep green top with beautiful cuffs, I can't wait to "modify" it (I've been working away at modifying my clothes as of late, I'll be making an entry to show you what I've done so far!).

Nude pumps and my other Louis Vuitton (my first one I ever bought a few years ago, it's my OTHER child). I recently splurged on a D&B bag (show you that in another entry) but I have my sight sets on Michael Kor's Hamilton bag in either red or camel, I haven't decided which color I want. I love everything about that bag, it's def going to be a purchase before I head up to San Francisco.

The lights are already up, I'm so excited! Everywhere I go I hear Christmas music, it's like Thanksgiving is pushed aside and Christmas has taken over both Nov & December! I honestly can't wait until "real" Christmas season starts--I just feel so happy and fuzzy inside, Christmas season is my favorite time of the whole year, I'm happy every single day.

And to end this much-needed post, I wanted to share with you some inspirational photos that have kept me on track as of late.
